Dear 7of9,thank you for being so open about things hard to talk about! You dont know me as I am new here but it is nice to know I am not alone in the way I feel either.Iam very shy,and dont make friends easily,so its great to talk to people this way(cause if they dont like what i say ,I can hide anyway).I like you suffer from anxiety disorders..which makes me feel like a bit of a freak!for example at some times i cant make myself go to the shop or anywhere. Also recently at the kindy xmas party I was asked to pour milkshake for the kids and i couldnt stop shaking!I am only 24..I dont want this problem to rule my life or my kids so I push myself into these situations hoping to overcome it.
Anyway thank you for opening up as it is scary and you have been of comfort to me so please feel good!
It takes a while to get to know people but in every post we reveal a little more of ourselves,I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Tales from the Couch
by Seven ini asked my therapist if it is possible for a patient to be re-traumatized during the course of treatment.
confronting memories over and over again.
painting mental images even more graphic to replace the vague ones i once had-is this a good thing?

Panties or Thongs, WHICH????????????
by JT ini thought the name of this thread was so on time for this thread demostrates one of the sad things about claiming to speak for god, when one actually does not.. when i was a newly appointed elder at the tender age of 27 .
i was introduced to the world of the judical committee.. it was in fact my first case.
i had gotten a call from the po before the meeting stating that their would be an elders meetings to discuss some judical matters.

For JT I read your post and had to reply as my mother told an elder of a liason with aman .And he asked her similar questions.
this elder was our bible study conductor actually and married at that .My mother looked at him as a father figure, and she is very gullable and trusting-agree shalom sis?)Anyway this Elder had taken us under his wing even buying her a exercycle, which is where it really gets juicy!I think it wasnt working and he offered to fix it, for anyway Mum went to get it for some reason but he followed her..to her BEDROOM .Once inside he closed the curtains and mumbled that it could be missinterpreted him being there .When this was accomplished he shared some sort of joke with mum and pushed her to the bed for a bit of a tickle! At this stage he was on top of her!If you are thinking my mother could have fancied him -dont-He loked like CLINGER offM*A*S*H!Anyway to to tie this up with the top where he asked personal questions ..I recon he went straight home to find his wife to relieve the sexual strain...but even with the paper bag on her head he still couldnt get over it!
Im sorry but this makes me mad-I hope i havent offended with sex innuendo.
PS...while writing this NZ just had a wicked EARTHQUAKE.
good night!

hello...I am still deciding what to believe.
As others raised in JWS will understand I for a time had the right to find my GOD taken from me.Now it takes time to decide if i disbelieve something becouse I was told to and the distaste for it is still there ,or if I truly chose to believe it.Topics such as THE TRINITY,SPEAKING IN TOUNGES,THE WORLD ORDER VS HEAVEN and loads more. To top it all of I cant say with out a doubt that I believe in God,but I mostly do.Its hard to bring life into the world and not wonder about such miracles. But I Keep an open mind or try to...unlike the watchtower society!
Listening to other thinking people certainly helps too ,Thanks guys. -

What did you do?
by StiLLinTruth into all those who have in some way left the organization (be it disfellowshipping, disassociating, dis-whatever):.
come now, i know the amount of people who "realized that wt doctrine was in serious error" and politely handed in their letter of resignation has to be very small.
the level of bitterness and hostility towards the closest-to-what's-biblical organization has to develop some other way.. what did you do?

To still in truth
What is (in good standing),does it mean you havent gone against the rules?
good for you!
the elders will love you- BUT is that enough to (get you a ticket) to the new world? I saw that you have a message that says "one down more to go' on another page.how do you know that gods not hoping you will change your haughty ideas? before he decides to give you any shelter?
Isnt it people with christlike personalities, that god will invite?
I realy cant imagine Jesus talking to us on here saying such a thing.
But hey when JAH sends your invite put it on the net to have a real gloat...we are already wondering what it looks like!signing off..and in awe of your holly ness.

Where do they sit in your hall?
by ns7 inwhat i find bemusing is, if there are any disfellowshipped ones in your hall they have to sit at the back.
now without getting into the merits/rights/wrongs of whether this should be still acceptable, where do they sit in your hall?
you see i seem to remember that they would sit on the back row, come in quietly just after the song and prayer and leave at the end just as quick.

Gozz-
That poor lady, she was probably so scared that someone might talk to her.I wonder how old the kids were .I imagine the last thing a dsflshpd person wants is her kids to make a sound at tha meeting! She was brave to go at all.Allegience! That is laughable...I believe that if JW"S want to be taken seriously, give some room for concience. If there is atrue religion a lot of importance is inpeoples hearts not in "I better not talk to her or an elder will council me".Then your inner private self has a bad concience becouse youve gone against your own feelings and beliefs. What would Jesus prefer acts for men or acts out of love!

hi ..new zealand is the same as every where else in jw's. I truely tried to be agood friend to the girls in my cong but they all played games.Just immaturaty ,yeah but the type some dont grow out of.I wouldent want my daughter to have friends like that. And to the person who said Jehovah is your friend etc etc. That doesnt realy cut it when your only young maybe when your aged 70 onwards the life of a recluse (I think thats the word Im looking for)becomes more apealing .Anyway I now live with an anxiety problem and fear of crowds eetc so the damage is done.Only after leaving the (truth?) did i finally find that not all humans are malicios(i cant spell it!)

I was around age 16 when mum was disfellowshiped, one day we were in a shop and a sister (we new well)not only ignored my mum but obviously snubbed me as well.I was trying to stay associated at that time, and i was very upset ,so mum marched up to her and said "I am dissfellowshipped-not my daughter. And I dont think your kind of attitude is very christian!" then the sister replied"well thats why your disfellowshipped ,your no christian" I didnt go to many more meetings after that even though Mum was still attending. She stopped going for afew years and is now attending on sundays. And she tells me that its different than it used to be as people do smile at her, and one old man talks to her and says he will save her seat for next week. so either the law is changing or people are deciding to use their freedom to thought and compassion etc.Doesnt motivate me to go back there though!
